1. Who We Are

You are visiting https://lovelanguage.co.uk, the official site for Love Language.

Love Language is a sole trader therapy service based in the United Kingdom. We provide online therapy sessions, downloadable resources, and educational content.

We are also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for data protection.

2. What Personal Data We Collect and Why

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect the data you submit in the comment form. Additionally, we record your IP address and browser details to help prevent spam.

We may generate an anonymised string (hash) from your email address to check with the Gravatar service. Their privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy. After approval, your profile image will appear publicly beside your comment.

Media

If you upload images, please remove embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Otherwise, visitors could extract that information from the files.

Cookies

When you comment, you may choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year and make commenting easier next time.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to check your browser’s cookie settings. This cookie contains no personal data and disappears when you close your browser.

Once you log in:

  • Login cookies stay active for two days
  • “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks
  • Display preference cookies last for one year
  • Publishing or editing a post stores a temporary cookie with the post ID (expires after one day)

To learn more, please read our Cookie Policy.

Embedded Content

Sometimes, our blog posts include embedded content (like videos or social media). These third-party sites may collect data and track interactions, especially if you’re logged into their platform.

3. Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, we include your IP address in the reset email for security purposes.

We do not share your personal data with marketing companies unless you give clear and direct consent.

4. How Long We Store Your Data

We keep your comments and related data indefinitely to recognise follow-up comments and improve user experience.

If you register an account (when applicable), we store your profile information securely. You can view, update, or delete your personal data anytime — except for your username. Site admins can also manage that data when necessary.

5. Your Rights Under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
